We went to Tahoe, where my mom and her special man-friend, Doug, rented this totally sick lakefront home. This was our front yard. Note Evan and boys clambering rocks in lower right corner.
We had a little cove so we could paddle around, and the boys did a lot of heavy digging for treasure.
Everett called this his "pole rock," and he also stashed all his best driftwood and old rope finds here. It was conveniently located just beyond the water depth where Frankie felt comfortable.
We took a day hike and Everett proved to be super-intrepid, hiking six miles! He reached the destination of this tiny mountain lake and claimed to be totally un-tired.
Frankie, it turns out is NOT an intrepid hiker at all, and did a great deal of whining, and we had to turn back. Nice Alpine Meadow, tho. Readers, consider yourself lucky that this image does not include sound.
Here is the lovely Julia at sunset on our cocktail deck.
We went to Virginia City, Nevada for a day of trains and sarsaparilla. Frankie could not figure out how to operate the cut-out photo-op device.
Frankie, as per usual, had a great time on the train.'
We got off in Gold Hill, a virtual ghost town, and former artist hangout in the 1970's. Everett has requested to spend his 6th b-day there. We are doing it!
Granny did some heavy story reading. We had a blast! Thanks to Granny and Doug!!!
