EC is About to be One Year Old!

Yup, October 10th will mark one year with the critter! Some grandparent types have been asking if Everett is wishing for something special for his birthday. Well, truth be told, he is. He told me that he LOVES Oompa Toys, he thinks their attention to detail and European craftsmanship is really swell, and then he told me that he created his very own wish list for his birthday! Isn't he a genius!?
If you are the type that likes to shop online, and the type that likes to buy presents for Everett (so really, I'm just reaching out to the immediate family, here, and compulsive shoppers) you can just click here on these blue words, and in the box that says: "enter first or last name," type in my name. (Everett asked me to tell you that he had to use my name because his credit is shot.) Then go to wish list: "Everett's First Birthday!"

I know I will catch shit for this move, but it's what Everett wanted, and I felt I should honor his wish (list).

Somebody's a Chatty Kathy

He has a lot to say these days, even if he's the only one who knows what he's saying. Click on the triangle for some fun movie times!

I'm Changing the Name of the Blog

I don't know how I missed it, but now it's totally obvious to me that the name of this blog should be, "Sweet Home, Alabama (in San Francisco)." Make it so.

My Mom Thinks She's Michael Jackson

So my mom lives in the chilliest room in the house, I'll give her that. However, it has been an unending source of amusement for me and my sister that my mom has a special glove for her "mouse hand" to wear during her computer time. I finally captured it on film. Awesome.

Time at Granny's

So, we went to visit Granny Reams, my mom, in my hometown of Seattle, WA (home of Grunge, ob-vee). We had so much fun times. My mom made mousaka and did not get called a "B." We spent a lot of QT with EC's aunties and uncles. Read on!

Here are some excellent shots of Floor Time with Granny:

On this trip, EC demonstrated his intense interest in the beverages of others.

I'm not really sure what to do about it. Giving him a sip in no way discourages him.

Piano Time. Clearly a musical genius.

One day we had this super dinner party Lots of Very Important Aunt and Uncle Types were there, including: Auntie Jules;

and Auntie Elly;

and Uncle Willy, and his Beautiful Wife, Auntie Catherine;

and Uncle Brad Rogers, husband of Aunt Elly;

and, of course, Cindy Cunningham (nee: Altic, longtime friend of Hale Family and regarded by many as the fifth Hale Sister)

I made my first Whole Salmons!

Thank God Uncle Brad was there to take out the bones or I don't really know what we would have done--I only thought as far ahead at the oven.

My sister's BFFs, Sonya and Roxy came over, and Roxy has this new baby, Marley, who is the cutest baby (girl) ever, and we had this total "magic hour" photo shoot in the backyard.

Zoo Success!

I don't know if you all remember the trauma of "free day" at the SF Zoo. You can check it in the archives. So last month, we visited my mom, and, among other things, we finally experienced zoo success!

One of the best parts is how close we got to the animals!
Pat the Bunny

...and the goat!

Gorilla Time!

Scary Kitty!

We said hi to the penguins for daddy.

Check out the Worm Crawl! Huh? Creepy name.

EC grooving on the tractor.

But I have to be completely honest, the best part about the zoo was photo opps galore with these bronze statues.

After a while, EC started to melt down, he was all, "Mom! Enough with your freaking camera! I'm so done with the zoo!" But I obviously had no choice when it came to this shot: Cash Only!

After our death march back to the car, he "cashed" out.

Homey's Not Feeling Good

Oh man, it's so sad. He had a fever of 104.1, which, of course, freaked me out, and then he had to have a cool bath and wear a wet towel on his head.
They had to draw blood from his tiny arm, and doesn't he look tough with his bandage?

So I let him chill out and watch Teletubbies. Now I can't stop singing the song. Crap.

Bath Time!

We spent a lot of time trying to get the wee ones to have fun play time in the bath, but mostly they just sat back-to-back, ignoring each other.

Afterwards, we did a photoshoot on the bed.

Can you tell whose bum is whose?
